From Family Roots to Destination Dreams
History
Our journey as wedding hosts began with our own love story. In 2014, we were married right here on Bearwallow Mountain, on land that has been in Lacy’s family for generations. Her grandfather, Carl Edney, cared for this property for more than 20 years, and her great-grandfather was born in Edneyville, the town that proudly carries the Edney family name.
That deep connection to the land made our wedding feel magical—personal, rooted, and unforgettable. Friends and family kept telling us, “You should make this a business.”
A few years later, couples who discovered our Airbnb listing began asking if they could get married here. By 2019, Cabin Heaven was born. Many of the photos on our website are from our own wedding day—reminders that this mountaintop has always been a place built on love, family, and togetherness.
Since then, we’ve shaped this space into a welcoming, stress-free venue where couples can focus on what matters most: celebrating their love surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.

Our Roots in Edneyville
Cabin Heaven isn’t just a venue—it’s part of a family legacy.
The Edney family name comes from Edneyville, North Carolina, where Lacy’s great-grandfather was born. This land on Bearwallow Mountain, just a short distance away, carries those same roots.
Hosting weddings here allows us to share that history with couples who want something real, meaningful, and lasting.
The Land & Location
Bearwallow Mountain is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, known for its open ridgelines, rolling pastures, and wide, layered views. Much of this land was once used for grazing cattle, which helped preserve the open landscape that still defines the mountain today. The property remains quiet and largely undeveloped, with wildlife like deer and wild turkeys regularly passing through, and a simple hiking trail that loops around the land. Wide skies, shifting light, and a slower rhythm are part of everyday life here — and that sense of space and stillness continues to shape the experience couples have at Cabin Heaven.
